If you’re a regular visitor to our blog, then you know that we shine a nice, happy spotlight on our new team members (and if you aren’t a regular visitor to our blog…where have you been!?).

Well, regardless of whether this is your 100th visit or your 1st, please allow me to introduce you Maxime, our great new Web Software Developer!

I recently had a chance to chat with Maxime, and below is a snapshot of our conversation (my questions are in bold):

Can you tell me a bit about your professional background?

A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away, I learned PHP & MySQL from a book.  Since then, I’ve been hooked on web development.  I earned my computer science degree in 2007 and my software engineering degree in 2011.  Since earning my degrees, I’ve worked as a web developer with various technologies. (Java, .Net, PHP, etc.).  I’m also an accredited Scrum Master (PSM I).

What would you say is your biggest professional achievement so far?

I’d say that writing a web console application that supports plugins from different products written by teams across the world.  I’ve trained developers from India, Israel, Ukraine, China and the US.

What was it about Devolutions that made you want to work here?

Well, they were literally in my backyard a few months ago.  I watched them grow and I liked their philosophy.  As soon as I saw the office, I was convinced  (you guys have a ping pong table and I can’t resist that…)

What would you say are your top three strengths at work?

First, I would say that I’m a quick learner. Second, I would say that I’m good at simplifying things. Plus, I would say that I’m a creative person when I have to solve issues.

What tasks do you carry out in your job, and what are some of the tools that you use?

My day-to-day role consists of developing a web application in JavaScript using Angular.  To achieve this, I use several tools; mainly: WebStorm, SQL Server Management Studio and Chrome.

What are your impressions about working here?

I’m really happy to have found an innovative IT company so close to where I live.

What goals would you like to achieve at Devolutions?

My end goal is really about developing awesome products while having fun.

On a personal note, what are some of your hobbies and interests?

I love to roller stake, play ping pong, and build furniture using locally-sourced wood. I’m also a casual gamer.

Please share a few words with our community of IT pros.

I’m looking forward to help create an awesome product for all of your RDM needs.
