Hello everyone,
Now that Remote Desktop Manager is used by more than 200,000 IT pros all over the world, it shouldn’t come as a surprise to learn that we’re expanding our team and bringing in some amazing new talent. Today, I’m excited to introduce you to Sébastien Crête, our brilliant new Senior Developer!
To help you get to know Sébastien a bit better, I interviewed him a few days ago. My questions are in bold, followed by his answers.
What kind of IT background do you have?
I’ve been in IT for 13 years. I started in the world of geomatics and NET, and over the years have developed several websites for some big names like Bombardier. I’ve also developed a ticketing system, HR system and more.
How did you and our CEO David meet?
Two of my friends have been working with David, and so I know of him – but hadn’t yet met him in person. The first time that happened was during my interview.
So far, what is your impression of Devolutions?
So far, I’m really impressed with the team, and how warm and friendly everyone is. Being new is not easy, but already I feel like I’m part of a big family. I’m looking forward to having a very long stay here at Devolutions and helping the company grow. I’ve also noticed that Devolutions is a very open minded company, and is willing to invest time and resources to develop excellent products. It’s the kind of workplace where everyone is important, and is allowed to flourish and achieve their potential.
What does your job involve? What tools do you use?
Currently, I’m taking existing modules of RDM from the PC version, and developing and adapting them for Mac using Xamarin and XCode, while programming in C #. So you could say I’m pretty busy!
What are some of your hobbies?
I enjoy cooking and baking – but with that said, my motto is live to eat, and not eat to live! I’m actually working on a cookbook as well, and hope to have that done by June. I also love traveling, and there are breathtaking landscapes in the world that I want to visit, such as the Atacama Desert with its flamingos, the Everest with its beautiful skies, the Douro vineyards in autumn...
What invention would you have liked to create?
I’d have to say choux pastry. It’s very easy to make, and it’s so delicious!
Would you like to say something to our community?
I’d just like to say that I’m looking forward to connecting with the great IT pros in our community. As many of them already know, Remote Desktop Manager is a simple and very user friendly tool. And the reason it’s like that is because this company really listens to its users. I know companies say stuff like that but they don’t actually live that ideal. Here at Devolutions, I can honestly say that listening to what the community wants is the top priority. And it’s thanks to the users that Remote Desktop Manager is so popular and, in my opinion, the best as well!
