Hi everyone,
As you probably know, I’m getting together with each of the amazing new team members here and asking some questions, so that you can get to know them a little better.
So far, my colleague Anne-Marie Mongeon has interviewed senior developer Sébastien Crête, and programmer Olivier Désalliers. Today, it’s my pleasure to introduce you to our newest software developer Nicolas Dufour! My questions are in bold, followed by Nicolas’s answers:
Can you tell me a bit about your background?
My background is in information systems. For example, I’ve worked for a company that developed parking control software, and for a company that created software to support hospital patients. I’ve also worked on developing software and websites for an insurance company.
How did you meet our CEO David?
I first met David when I was working on the software that support hospital patients. David and I were on the module management orders team. Also, David and I worked together in managing a multi-clinic software and website development project for optometrists. He worked with me by day, and then worked on Remote Desktop Manager by night!
How did you find out about an opportunity with Devolutions?
David called me and offered me a job with the team. I was really excited; especially since the technology is really interesting and it would be a new challenge for me. Plus, of course, I knew David from our previous work together and really liked his professionalism and his leadership. I had no doubt that joining Devolutions would be the right choice!
What are your first impressions of working at Devolutions?
It’s a lot of fun here! Everyone is very smart, but also very friendly and there’s a lot of laughter. The technology is also really amazing and stimulating. It’s a perfect fit for me because I love creating IT products for IT people. Overall, I’m really impressed by the focus of Devolutions and the progress that is made on a daily basis.
What does your job involve? What tools do you use?
Currently, I’m working with the Android team, as we develop the Android version for Remote Desktop Manager. We’re mainly using Xamarin Studio and Visual Studio 2013 as our deve
lopment tools.
What are some of your hobbies?![nadal]()
I’ve played tennis for years and love it! My favorite tennis player is Rafael Nadal. I like how competitive he is, as well as his tenacity and persistence. He never gives up! I also love watching Game of Thrones, True Blood and Spartacus.
What invention do you wish you had created?
I wish I had created Google and its search algorithm. I admire Google’s constant evolution and innovation.
Would you like to say something to our community?
This company really cares about you! Everything they do here is about helping the community. They also really listen to feedback, so if you have any questions, comments or ideas, don’t hesitate to send them in!
