OK, it’s not going to be BREAKING NEWS for any of you to learn that here at Devolutions, pretty much everyone is a geek. Sure, some of us are geekier than others. But we’re all geeky. Like, if there’s a zombie apocalypse anytime soon, we’re going to survive and thrive. But that’s not all. We’re also proud to be geeks. Which is amazing, because a few years ago being called a geek — let alone calling yourself a geek! — was an insult. But these days, being a geek is great. Here’s a nice definition that I came across on Urban Dictionary: “Geeks are the people you pick on in high school and wind up working for as an adult.” How funny is that?
The Geeks Shall Inherit the Earth
OK, maybe inheriting the Earth is a bit ambitious. But one thing is for sure: when May 25 comes around, we hope you’ll join us in celebrating Geek Pride Day. As part of the day’s festivities, you could:
- Refuse to do any task at work until you roll at 16-sided dice and see how many hit points are on the line.
- Call your favorite airlines and ask them if they’d be kind enough to tell you how much it would cost to travel “three days ride, as the Nazgul flies”.
